HBCU Career Development Scholarship Award

 

The purpose of the award is to provide students attending Historically Black Colleges or Universities with scholarships to promote career development. The Birmingham (AL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will provide $1000 scholarship awards.

Awards may be used to offset expenses associated with learning, employment, or career development, such business attire for interviewing, internships, or employment), technology devices (i.e., laptop), coaching (i.e., interview coaching), and knowledge resources (i.e., textbooks).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Enrolled and completed one year of college at Talladega College, Lawson State Community College, or Stillman College.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

Eligible students must submit the following:

    • A  completed electronic application no later than April 21, 2023
    • A completed video interview describing your career aspirations and how you will benefit from the scholarship.
    • A professional resume.
    • An unofficial University/College Transcript.

Students receiving the scholarship award must submit an official university/college transcript prior to disbursement of funds. The transcript should be mailed to:
