Wow, friends, we are almost at the end of 2021! What a year it has been! Another year and COVID still exist. It exists with an even new variant, Omicron. Who would have ever thought it would still be hanging around. Nevertheless, we are still here, we are still blessed and we have so much to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving has come and gone; Christmas is almost here and 2022 is upon us. Wow!! that is worth repeating. Thanksgiving has come and gone; Christmas is almost here and 2022 is upon us.
As I started to write, I thought I knew exactly what I was about to write and then I thought “Thanksgiving is not gone. Nor should it be. It’s still here and should be celebrated every day. My sister-friends, Thanksgiving should be every single day. It is okay to celebrate it in November but we should remember that “Thanksgiving is every day.” I don’t think that I need to explain this to you because I am sure that we wake up and rise every day with a heart filled with thankfulness. Thankfulness for waking up each morning because some did not. Thankfulness to our families because every day is not promised. Thankfulness for our jobs because many do not have one. Thankfulness for our homes because many are homeless and have no shelter. Thankfulness for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness because everyone is not free to have the opportunities that we are blessed to have. In the words of my mother, “My Goodness.”
Ladies, I don’t know about you but I would be willing to bet that all of us are on the same page as it relates to being thankful. My prayer for each of us and our families is that we are all “THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, AND BLESSED.” What I hope and pray for each of us is that we celebrate Thanksgiving 365 days a year. I pray that we all wake up each day with thankful hearts and thankful minds. I pray that we all remember that “every day😀😀 is Thanksgiving.”
Today’s Prayer God, we thank you for this brand-new morning and the brand-new blessings you grant us each day. We are so grateful that you chose us to be exactly who we are today and where we are today. Thank you for trusting us to lead, guide, and intercede for others; our families, friends, and others that you place in our path. Help us to always remember that every day is Thanksgiving and we praise you for each day. We thank you for allowing us to still be here. Help us to live up to every expectation that you have for us. God our desire is to do your will and to do it in your way. Help each and every one of us and our families to be Thankful, Grateful, and Blessed. We love you, Lord. In Your Son Jesus’ Name, Amen.
