Monday Morning Inspiration
Good Morning My Beautiful Link Sisters,
I hope your week is off to an amazing start and that the rest of your week will be pleasant and productive.
I was sitting here wondering exactly what topic to choose and as always God always brings one to mind. And as always, I immediately thought about the makeup of our chapter. I thought about the diversity of our chapter, including where we were born and raised, our various educational backgrounds, our various professions, our life experiences, and our various ambitions. Think about it. Our chapter is loaded with talented, thoughtful, and growing women. Then I thought about how great we are at and guiding teaching others. What impressions are we making on others? Then “footprints and impressions” came to mind. What does our footprint look like? Then more questions came to mind that we should all ask ourselves periodically.
– What does the footprint/impression that I am making really look like to me? – What does it look like to others? – Is the impression deep enough so that others can actually see it? – Is it clear enough for others to understand? – Can others follow my footprints without question? – Can others use them as a model for growth, impact, and leadership? – If others follow, where will my impressions lead them?
From where I sit, I would have immediately said absolutely, someone can follow my footprints to success, and then I said, “Am I really sure?” Sisters, this is simply a little self-assessment that I think is healthy for anyone to conduct periodically, especially as life’s seasons change. As I get older, I seem to be doing it a whole lot more. While my direction will possibly change as time goes by, I pray that my growth, my impressions, and my impact will never be dimmed. Sisters, we will never get too old to grow and have a lasting impact on others. Let’s continue to have this impact together. Let’s continue to make our mark in the community and leave bold impressions.
If you have never thought about it, just give it some thought.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 ESV
“For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.” John 3:15 ESV
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Phillipians 2:3-4
God, we thank you for this day. We thank you for allowing us to wake up this morning to breathe your fresh air and see another day. God, allow us to continue to grow and leave impressions for others so that they can come along behind us and serve you and your people. God, please give us all that we need to lead the way for others to follow. Put those in our path that might feel that they will never make it beyond where they are now. Give us what we need to help them to know that nothing is impossible with you and they can reach for the stars no matter how dark it seems right now. Help us to always remember that you placed us in this organization to serve together, not just for our growth but for our impact and the growth of others. Help us never lose sight of the way that you made for us so that we can help make the way for others. You gave us guidance so that we can guide others to the heights and places that you would have them to be. Thank you for trusting us, allowing us to continue to grow, and leaving positive footprints for others to follow. In Your Son Jesus’ Name, Amen!
