Monday Morning Inspiration

Good Morning My Beautiful Link Sisters

I hope that your day is off to an amazing start!

Yesterday I attended the launch of a youth ministry, Pastoral Point Guard. My friends, whose son was killed in a car accident on September 17, 2020 decided to launch the ministry that their son was planning to launch. He had planned this before his death. He was a saved and God-Loving young man, who was a point guard on his high school and college basketball teams. Although he lost his life during a car accident a year ago, his mom and dad decided to launch the ministry as a part of their way to keep his memory alive and to pass on his passion for God and sports. One of the messages that his parents shared was that “Our son planted the seed and we are here to nurture it.” This statement immediately resonated with me, mainly because I love a beautiful yard and I nurture it. While I have to plant and nurture, I love both roles. This also resonated with me because of the many organizations that I am affiliated with. I am sure this applies to all of us. We have jobs, families, our Link’s chapter/friends, sororities, other organizations and relationships that we have to nurture. The seeds were already planted. We simply have to focus on the healthy growth of what was planted for us many years ago. Basically we are nurturing the plants, plans, the discoveries, the professions, and the organizations that someone else planted the seeds for.

This is in direct alignment with our core values. There are several responsibilities and values that are listed on our website: “Our core values are friendship, integrity, honesty, service, commitment, family relationships, courage, respect for self and others, legacy, confidentiality, responsibility, and accountability. The members of The Links, Incorporated are influential decision makers and opinion leaders. The Links, Incorporated has attracted many distinguished women who are individual achievers and have made a difference in their communities and the world. They are business and civic leaders, role models, mentors, activists and volunteers who work toward a common vision by engaging like-minded organizations and individuals for partnership.”

So, as you can see, this is who we have been called to be and what we have been called to do. Nurture! And we have the skills, passion, and responsibility to do it.

Today’s Scripture
Matthew 25:40
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me.”

Hebrews 13:16 ESV
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

Todays Prayer
Dear God, we thank you for this day. Thank you for allowing us to wake up this morning, rested, refreshed and ready to serve. Help us to never forget that serving and nurturing is why we are a part of this awesome organization. Help us to understand that you have given us gifts and help us to use our gifts to serve others, nurture others and to be your hands and feet in our communities. Help to remember that we are here to nurture the seeds that you allowed our founders to plant. Help us to stand in the gap that is present in many areas and with so many people. God, we thank you for this opportunity to grow individually and collectively as we assist others with their growth. As we nurture our communities, help them to grow continuously. God, we are your servants and we will use all of the talent we have to help others to advance and understand their talents. We love you and we honor you. In your Precious Son, Jesus’ name, Amen!
